Report: Tottenham tracking 23-year-old right-back

According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a move for Mexican right-back Jorge Sanchez.

Right-back is one of the areas that Tottenham are expected to strengthen before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month.

Serge Aurier, who is now into the final 12 months of his contract with Spurs, is expected to leave the club.

Bologna’s Takehiro Tomoyasu, who has proven adept at both centre-back and right-back for the Serie A club, is thought to be a target for the North Londoners, with some reports suggesting that Spurs will complete the deal after the Olympics.

It now looks as though Spurs also have their eye on another right-back who is competing at the Olympics in the form of Sanchez.

The 23-year-old, who has been a consistent performer for Mexican side Club America over the last three years, also progressed to the semi-finals for the Olympics just as Tomiyasu’s Japan.

O’Rourke has revealed that both Spurs and Everton are now tracking Sanchez.

Just because Spurs are tracking Sanchez does not mean that the club are likely to make a move for him this summer. The 23-year-old might be just one of a whole host of players being tracked by Paraitici’s scouts.
