Report: Tottenham tracking Barcelona star valued at £30m

According to a report from Transfer Market Web, Tottenham Hotspur are one of several clubs interested in Barcelona midfielder, Philippe Coutinho.

Coutinho has struggled to replicate the form he showed at Liverpool since completing his big-money move to Barcelona in 2018.

The midfielder made a decent impact on loan at Bayern Munich last term, playing a part in the club’s route to a historic treble.

However, the Brazilian has struggled for minutes back at the Nou Camp this season, making just 12 league appearances so far for Ronald Koeman’s side.

Spurs were linked with a move for the 28-year-old last summer, with Fabrizio Romano later confirming that he was offered to the North Londoners by Barcelona.

If Transfer Market Web are to be believed, Tottenham could be set to make a move for Coutinho when the transfer window reopens.

The report reveals that Arsenal also have their eyes on the former Liverpool man, who is said to be valued at €35m (£30.3m).

Spurs Web Opinion

Given that Dele Alli looks likely to leave in the summer, Spurs could be in the market for an attacking midfielder who can provide a goal threat. If reports are to be believed, Sabitzer seems to be the number one target for Jose Mourinho’s men. Perhaps, the club are eyeing Coutinho as an alternative if they are not able to snap up the Austrian.
