Report: Tottenham transfer boost as target is left out of pre-season tour squad

Tottenham Hotspur are just a matter of days away from their first big pre-season fixture, with the squad taking on Juventus in Singapore on July 21.

Much like Spurs, many of the other European giants are jetting off to pre-season tours, including Real Madrid.

Los Blancos are set to face the likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich, and Atletico Madrid across the USA in the International Champions Cup  (Mirror).

Zinedine Zidane has named ex-Tottenham winger Gareth Bale, former Spurs midfield man Luka Modric, and a host of other first-team stars for the trip (AS).

However, one name not among the pre-season tour squad is attacking midfielder Dani Ceballos, a player who has been linked with a move to Tottenham this summer (Sky Sports).

Spurs and Arsenal are reportedly competing for the playmaker’s signature, although this may only be on loan, after the 22-year-old has a superb U21 European Championship for Spain (Marca).

It is likely that Ceballos may have been left out due to his international commitments running late into the summer, but could it also hint towards a move away from Madrid this summer?
