Report: Tottenham transfer hits roadblock due to disagreement over loan fee

Football Insider have revealed that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s proposed move to Juventus has hit a roadblock owing to disagreements between the two clubs regarding the loan fee.

The report says that Spurs had put Hojbjerg in the shop window after Ange Postecoglou gave the green light for the Dane to leave.

The Australian is thought to be intent on bringing another midfielder through the door to replace the 28-year-old and it is explained that Juve had made the former Southampton star their top target for January.

Juventus not willing to pay Hojbjerg loan fee

However, the outlet claims that the Serie A giants baulked at the loan fee that the Premier League side demanded for Hojbjerg when the two clubs head talks over an initial loan move.

The publication says that talks have been halted for now as a result but it is said that a deal could yet be restructured later in the transfer window.

This update from Football Insider comes a little over a week after Gazzetta dello Sport claimed that the Bianconeri are having doubts over a move for Hojbjerg and could put off their pursuit of the Spurs star until next summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Hojbjerg’s move to Juventus does go through, it seems likely that it will only do so in the final few days of the transfer window.

One would also expect plenty of other clubs to show interest in the Dane but Postecoglou would be wary of allowing the 28-year-old to leave without bringing a replacement through the door first.
