Report: Tottenham will assess injured duo today ahead of Crystal Palace clash

Tottenham are planning to assess Steven Bergwijn and Oliver Skipp today after both sustained injuries over the international break, according to the Evening Standard.

Skipp limped off with a groin problem during England U21’s 2-0 win against Kosovo, while Bergwijn was substituted after an hour in the Netherlands’ 6-1 battering of Turkey. The Dutchman was pictured on the bench with strapping and an ice pack around his left foot.

The Evening Standard report the Spurs pair have returned to North London today to be assessed by the club’s medical team to find out the extent of their injuries.

Both Bergwijn and Skipp have started in all three of Spurs’ league games so far this season.

Their injuries have only added to what has been an awful international break for Spurs, after star winger Heung-min Son picked up a calf strain on duty with South Korea.

Ryan Sessegnon also suffered a knock while with the England U21 side, and is confirmed as a doubt for the weekend’s game at Selhurst Park.

Spurs Web Opinion

This international break is ending on a rather sour note, especially after the quarantine problems for Giovani Lo Celso, Cristian Romero and Davinson Sanchez.

There is hope that the injuries aren’t too serious though and, hopefully, the players won’t miss too many games ahead of an important run-in.
