Report: Tottenham will ‘dive into’ La Liga right-back if they miss out on Porro

The print edition of Tuttosport (20/01/23 as relayed by Sport Witness) has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have identified Real Valladolid starlet Ivan Fresneda as their main alternative to Pedro Porro.

There have been contrasting updates regarding Tottenham’s pursuit of Porro over recent days, with some publications stating that the North London club are ready to abandon their pursuit of the Sporting star (A Bola via Sport Witness) while others have backed Antonio Conte’s men to begin a fresh round of talks for the 23-year-old (El Chiringuito TV).

TuttoSport have now claimed that if the Lilywhites miss out on Porro, they will ‘dive into Fresneda’ during the current transfer window.

The report explains that the 18-year-old is not just on the radar of Spurs but also fellow Premier League side Newcastle United.

Juventus are also thought to be monitoring the Valladolid star’s situation and it is suggested that Borussia Dortmund’s interest in the right-back is not concrete at this stage.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Fresneda is a promising talent, he would be a signing for the future rather than a player who would improve our starting line up. If Spurs do miss out on Porro, they would have to move for a player like Kyle Walker-Peters who would instantly be an upgrade on Conte’s current options at right wing-back.
