Report: Tottenham will find a deal for 25-year-old to be ‘complex’ this summer

Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur will find it difficult to pull off a deal for Ebereche Eze this summer as Crystal Palace wish to keep the attacking midfielder while the player’s former club, QPR, are also owed a percentage of any fee.

The report backs up what we have heard from other sources over the last few months by naming Manchester City and Spurs as potential destinations for Eze this summer.

It is revealed that while City have previously expressed interest in the England international, the Lilywhites are now monitoring his situation closely ahead of the summer.

Eze deal will be complicated for Tottenham

Football Insider say that the Eagles are keen to hold on to Eze and are aware that they could face a battle to do so on the back of the impressive campaign he has had.

The South London club are said to be hoping that the midfielder’s long-term future is at Selhurst Park as they embark on a new era under Oliver Glasner.

The publication also adds that Eze’s contract doesn’t contain a ‘straightforward release clause’ and that any deal for the player would be ‘complex’, with percentages due to himself, his former club and Palace.

Spurs Web Opinion

One would expect Spurs to have already done the groundwork to find out the feasibility of the operation and there seems to be some belief at Tottenham that a deal for Eze is possible. Ultimately, the transfer might depend on whether the attacking midfielder is willing to agitate for a move.
