Report: Tottenham ‘will not let go’ in their pursuit of Antonio Conte’s top target

Italian journalist Rudy Galetti has revealed on his website that Tottenham Hotspur are refusing to ‘let go’ in their pursuit of Pedro Porro and remain determined to sign the right wing-back.

Almost all outlets who have reported on Tottenham’s pursuit of Porro over recent days have indicated that Sporting Lisbon will not let the 23-year-old leave unless his £40million transfer release clause is paid (The Guardian).

Nicolo Schira claimed a couple of days ago on Twitter that Spurs have already struck an agreement with the Spaniard on a contract that would run until 2027.

This has now been backed up by Galetti, who has stated that Antonio Conte’s men have reached an ‘agreement in principle’ with the player regarding personal terms.

The journalist also reiterates that barring ‘sensational twists and turns’, Sporting are likely to stick to their demands of Porro’s full release clause while also revealing that Tottenham do not appear ready to give up and ‘will try to close’ the deal for the player over the ‘coming weeks’

Spurs Web Opinion

It seems like Tottenham are putting all their eggs in the Porro basket rather than following Paratici’s modus operandi of negotiating for multiple right wing-backs at the same time. That suggests that the North London club are fairly confident of pushing through a deal for the Sporting star.
