Report: Tottenham willing to pay £15.5m for South American star

According to a report from TNT Sports Chile, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Santos winger Yeferson Soteldo and are ready to make an offer.

After breaking into the first-team of Venezuelan club, Zamora as a teenager and showing plenty of promise, Soteldo made a name for himself in Chilean football at Huachipato and Universidad de Chile.

The diminutive winger then got a big move to Brazilian club Santos at the start of 2019 and has not looked back since.

He has established himself as a key player for the Santos side over the last two years and has dazzled with his skill on the ball and ability to go past players.

TNT report that Tottenham are now eyeing a move for the 23-year-old and are willing to pay $21m (£15.5m) to snap him up.

It is claimed that this is not the first time Spurs have tried to sign Soteldo, with the North Londoners previously having a bid of around $7m (£5m) turned down for the Venezuelan international.

No one apart from this one source seems to be reporting our interest in Soteldo. If the reports had some truth in it, other publications would have likely picked up on this by now. So Spurs fans must take this rumour with a pinch of salt.
