Report: Player deletes Spurs from Instagram bio amid transfer speculation

Tottenham starlet Romaine Mundle has deleted any mention of Spurs from his Instagram bio amidst reports linking him with an exit from North London.

Mundle has been an outstanding performer for Spurs in Premier League 2 this season, with seven goals and five assists to his name in 2022-23 (Transfermarkt).

The youngster has also been called up to train with the first team this season but his future remains up in the air as his current contract in N17 runs out in June.

Over the last couple of weeks, multiple publications have revealed that the winger has emerged as a target for Belgian clubs ahead of the summer.

The first such report came from Het Laatste Nieuws who claimed that Anderlecht are keeping a close eye on Mundle’s displays and were considering offering him a contract.

This was followed by a report in Le Soir, who claimed last week that Anderlecht’s rivals Standard Liege had even contacted the 20-year-old regarding a move to Belgium.

The report added that the Spurs academy youngster is considering making the switch as he believes that it would be very difficult to break into the Tottenham first-team picture.

It is amidst this backdrop that Mundle has strangely deleted anything associated with the Lilywhites from his Instagram bio, which perhaps indicates that the youngster’s days at the club might be numbered.

Fans must be careful about reading too much into players’ social media activity as it can often be blown out of proportion.

However, the timing of Mundle’s action does seem quite concerning, given that he appears to be no closer to agreeing a new contract with Tottenham.
