Report: Tottenham yet to make an offer for forward despite previous interest

The print edition of Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness) has revealed that even though Tottenham showed concrete interest in Vitor Roque in the past, the Premier League side have not approached Barcelona for the striker ahead of the summer.

Roque has struggled for game time since moving to Camp Nou in January and it was revealed by Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel earlier this week that the youngster might be on his way out of Barca this summer.

The journalist also claimed in the video that Tottenham tried their best to hijack the Catalan club’s deal for the player last summer.

A couple of days ago, TBR Football reported that the 19-year-old’s representatives had reached out to the likes of Spurs, Chelsea, and Manchester United to let them know of the player’s availability, with all three sides said to be on alert.

Spurs have not made an approach for Vitor Roque

Sport have now also pointed out that Tottenham showed ‘the most interest’ in signing the teenager from Athletico Paranaense last summer before Barca swooped for him.

However, the report says that ‘it is unknown’ at the moment if Ange Postecoglou’s side will reignite their interest in the Brazilian this summer.

It is asserted that Barcelona have not been approached by any club with a concrete proposal for the forward ahead of the summer window.

Given Barca’s financial problems, they would have to sell some of their assets to fund moves for their top transfer targets. So Roque’s sale cannot be ruled out and one would expect the likes of Spurs to test the waters with an offer for the teenager.
