Report: Tottenham’s Fabio Paratici has spoken to Serie A star’s representatives

According to Football.London’s Alasdair Gold, Tottenham’s managing director of football Fabio Paratici has spoken to Weston McKennie’s representatives regarding a move to Tottenham.

Tottenham are expected to try and offload three midfielders in Dele Alli, Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso before the window slams shut (The Times).

McKennie was previously reported to be one of the midfielders on Antonio Conte’s wishlist, with the Italian allegedly viewing the Juve star as the new Arturo Vidal (Gazzetta).

Gold has now revealed that, like Conte, Paratici is also a fan of McKennie, who he played a pivotal role in taking to Juventus from Schalke in 2020.

The journalist alleges that the Spurs managing director has spoken to the USA international’s agent about a move to North London. However, he adds that a January switch for McKennie is ‘unlikely’ as things stand.

Gold also goes on to explain that another one of Tottenham’s midfield targets, Franck Kessie, is also unlikely to join this month.

He explains that while Milan would be willing to sell the Ivorian, there is a belief that the player would prefer to wait until the summer to leave the San Siro.

Spurs Web Opinion

One would think that Spurs would not be letting all three of Dele, Lo Celso and Ndombele leave unless they have a few midfielders lined up. However, we do not appear close to any midfielder as things stand, which I find quite concerning.
