Report: Tottenham’s forgotten man to feature after recovering from injury

According to a Sky Sports report, Vincent Janssen has now fully recovered from the foot injury that has been plaguing him since the start of the season. The 24-year-old striker is set to feature in Spurs’ U-23 game against Liverpool on Monday, in a bid to regain match fitness.

That could well turn out to be the last time Janssen plays competitive football in a Tottenham shirt as the striker is expected to leave the club in the current transfer window.

After a disappointing first season with the club, the Dutch international only featured once last season before being loaned out to Turkish side Fenerbache. Tottenham are rumoured to be interested in adding more attacking options to their squad this January with Hull City’s Jarrod Bowen being heavily linked with the club.

However, it is has been well publicised that Spurs first need to clear up squad spaces in order to add more new faces and the likes of Llorente, Janssen, and Nkoudou are all expected to depart.

While rumours linking Janssen with Celtic have been rubbished, a few Premier League clubs are said to be showing interest in the former Eredivisie golden boot winner.
