Report: Tottenham’s former director offers £22.5m-rated striker to his old club

According to a report in TEAMtalk, former Tottenham technical director, Franco Baldini, has offered the Lilywhites the chance to sign Roma striker Patrik Schick this summer.

Schick is one of several strikers with whom Spurs have been linked of late, with the club said in to be in a four-way battle for the Roma man with Arsenal, Newcastle, and Everton (La Gazzetta dello Sport).

The Czech Republic international has impressed on loan at RB Leipzig this season, although he has not always been a first-choice player for Julian Nagelsmann’s side.

TEAMtalk reveal that, with Leipzig not willing to take up the €29 million permanent option to sign the 24-year-old, Roma are looking for buyers for the striker.

Baldini, who is technically only an advisor to Roma, is said to have been tasked with finding a buyer for Schick, with Roma’s sporting director Gianluca Petrachi having been suspended by the club.

The Serie A club are reportedly determined to get around €25m (£22.5m) for the centre forward (Corriere Dello Sport via TEAMtalk).

Baldini is said to have offered the striker to Jose Mourinho’s side, who are on the lookout for a back up to Harry Kane.

Spurs Web Opinion

I would not at all be surprised if Schick is one of the forwards on our radar this summer. He is very good with his back to goal and can offer us an outlet in games if we are pinned back. Schick can not only play up top on his own but can also partner Kane upfront or play as a wide forward. He could potentially give Jose Mourinho a lot more options.
