Report: Tottenham’s Harry Kane is ‘helping mentor’ teenage British superstar

The Athletic have revealed that Tottenham’s Harry Kane is helping to mentor young tennis superstar, Emma Raducanu, as she looks to build a career for herself over the long term.

Raducanu was shot into the limelight out of nowhere when she won the 2021 US Open title, becoming the first-ever qualifier to do so in the history of the Open era.

However, the youngster has struggled for consistency and fitness ever since that triumph, and of course now carries the pressure of the ‘Grand Slam Winner’ title from tournament to tournament.

One man who knows all about dealing with pressure in sport is Tottenham’s Harry Kane, who also burst onto the scene from relative obscurity following his Spurs academy days.

The Athletic reveal that Kane has held ‘several conversations’ with Raducanu to share advice, experiences, and ideas as she looks to build her career. It helps that Emma is also a new Tottenham fan (Standard).

Spurs Web Opinion:

It’s nice to see Harry passing some advice down the line to the next generation, even beyond his own sport. People will joke about Kane giving advice when Raducanu has won more trophies than him, but let’s face it, if Kane played a solo sport, he would have won the lot by now.
