According to Calicomercato.com, Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Gleison Bremer is pushing up Torino’s asking price for the centre-back.

Previous reports have indicated that Antonio Conte wants to add two central defenders to his squad this summer, particularly if Joe Rodon and Davison Sanchez leave, with Bremer said to be one of the names on the wishlist (Football.London’s Alasdair Gold).

It was reported last week that Inter Milan were closing in on a deal for the Brazilian (The Evening Standard) but the picture seems to have changed since then.

Corriere Granata claimed this week that Spurs could be about to launch an offer of around €35m (£30m) plus bonuses for the 25-year-old after holding talks with the player’s representatives.

Calciomercato.com have now revealed that Tottenham’s interest in Bremer means that a fee of €30m-€35m (£25.6m-£30m) may no longer be enough to snap up the centre-back.

Inter Milan and AC Milan, who are also keen on signing the Tornio star, have seen the defender’s price rise after Spurs entered the picture.

The report adds that Torino chairman Urbano Cairo has got a bidding war going for Bremer and plans on using the funds from the Brazilian’s sale to finance moves for the club’s transfer targets this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

I think our interest in Bremer is independent of our pursuit of a left-sided centre-back. With Davinson Sanchez and Joe Rodon potentially on their way out, Conte probably views the Torino star as an option to cover for both Eric Dier and Cristian Romero in the central sweeper role and at right centre-back.
