Report: Tottenham’s Levy planning £115m double swoop for Serie A duo

CalcioMercato have reported that Tottenham Hotspur’s Daniel Levy is planning an ambitious double swoop for Juventus duo Matthijs de Ligt and Dejan Kulusevski (via The Express).

The report claims that Levy could look to use managing director of football, Fabio Paratici’s links to Juventus, where he worked for many years, to seal the two deals.

In fact, Paratici was the man who signed both De Ligt and Kulusevski for Juventus in the first place, with the former joining in 2019 and the latter in January 2020. Paratici is known to be a big fan of De Ligt, in particular.

Daniel Levy is said to be ready to bid £29.7m for Kulusevski, which is the same fee Juventus paid Atalanta for him, and £85.4m for De Ligt.

It is claimed that Juventus’ stance on a possible sale is simply not known, but such an ambitious double bid from Tottenham would test their resolve.

Spurs Web Opinion:

There is no way that Spurs would pay £85m for De Ligt, nor should they. The Kulusevski deal sounds more believable and doable, so that may not be the last we hear of that. Unfortunately, Tottenham would only have this kind of money if Harry Kane is sold.
