Report: Tottenham’s meeting with midfielder ‘not positive’ – Player prefers to stay in Serie A

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Tottenham Hotspur’s meeting with Franck Kessie’s entourage over a free transfer in the summer did not go positively.

Kessie is now able to sign a pre-contract agreement with non-Italian clubs ahead of a free transfer in the summer as he is into the final six months of his deal at the San Siro (Transfermakt).

The Telegraph claimed last week that Tottenham were looking to complete Kessie’s signing in January in order to avoid competition for him in the summer.

However, it subsequently emerged that the Ivory Coast international was not interested in a January move and would prefer to leave Milan at the end of the season (CalcioMeracto).

If Gazzetta’s latest update is to be believed, Tottenham might not be able to swoop for Kessie in the summer either.

This is because the North London club’s meeting with the 25-year-old did not go well and the player allegedly made it clear he would prefer to stay in Serie A.

It is revealed that Inter Milan have already sounded out the midfielder regarding a summer transfer while Juventus are also keen on snapping up the Milan star.

Spurs Web Opinion

This week seems to be going from bad to worse for Spurs. The club have seemingly not been able to get any of Conte’s top transfer targets.

However, there is still a long way to go until the summer. So, I am hoping Paratici would be able to convince Kessie that a move to Spurs would be the right next step for him.
