Sporting Lisbon captain Bruno Fernandes is still on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur according to reports in Portugal.
Today’s edition of A Bola claims that Spurs along with Premier League rivals Manchester United are still in negotiations with the Portuguese club over a potential deal to bring him to England.
Spurs and United are believed to be prepared to offer €55 million, while Sporting are holding out for €70 million to have any chance of a deal being completed.
Fernandes’ rise in Portugal has been impressive after he scored a remarkable 31 goals from midfield last season, which alerted a host of European clubs to his potential.
His Agent Miguel Pinho was believed to have travelled to London last week to hold discussions with Spurs officials over a possible move to North London (Telegraph).
The Daily Mail recently claimed that Spurs had ruled themselves out of the race leaving United with a clear run in their pursuit of the Portuguese international.
However, if reports are to be believed from his homeland, Spurs could still be in the hunt for his services.
