Report: Tottenham’s scouts have been ‘blown away’ by 21-year-old target

Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham’s scouts have been ‘blown away’ by Gent’s Gift Orban and expect the striker to explode over the coming years.

Over the past 48 hours, plenty of outlets have backed Tottenham to make a move for Orban to replace Harry Kane.

This includes The Evening Standard, who stated on Monday that Spurs are now contemplating a formal offer for the Nigerian, with the club now prioritising a replacement for Kane.

CaughtOffisde even asserted on Sunday that the Lilywhites could launch a concrete offer for the Gent star in a matter of days, with the striker alleged to be valued at around £25m.

Spurs scouts blown away by Gift Orban

Football Insider have now become the latest outlet to report on Spurs’ interest in Orban, with the publication stating that the North London club have identified the 21-year-old as a ‘major target’ following Kane’s exit.

The report states that Tottenham officials are excited by the Nigerian’s ‘huge potential’ and expect him to replace the goals that the club have lost this season and beyond.

It is evident that Orban has a goalscorer’s instinct which cannot be coached, with the striker appearing extremely composed in front of goal.

However, if Spurs do sign him, it will be a big ask for the youngster to deliver at Premier League level straightaway. He would probably need a year to settle into the new surroundings, which means that we might not see the best of him until next season.
