Report: Tottenham’s top two striker targets emerge – Both from Premier League

Football Insider claim that Tottenham Hotspur are now expected to prioritise landing a marquee striker this summer after making the decision to listen to offers for Richarlison.

The report claims that Ange Postecoglou’s men have now decided to sign a top-class number nine to fill the void left by Harry Kane and that is now their top agenda when the summer transfer window opens.

No replacement has arrived following Harry Kane’s departure

This decision has allegedly been made after the Lilywhites made it clear that they are ready to listen to offers for Richarlison, with the club expecting their transfer kitty to be boosted by the Brazilian’s departure.

The outlet claims that English duo, Ivan Toney and Dominic Solanke, have emerged as Tottenham’s top targets for the number nine role, with the club now exploring moves for both players.

It is alleged that Spurs could land Toney for just £40m this summer since the Bees star has just a year left on his contract.

The publication also adds that Tottenham have been impressed by Solanke’s displays at the Vitality Stadium this season and have now expressed a ‘concrete’ interest in the 26-year-old.

Spurs Web Opinion

It makes sense for Spurs to be looking at English strikers, given their lack of homegrown options. However, I am convinced that the club will offload Richarlison this summer.

The Brazilian has made it clear that he is not interested in a move to the Middle East and I do not see anyone else apart from Saudi clubs being willing to offer around £50m or more for the former Everton man.

I have huge reservations in Solanke being a target for Tottenham, he has not consistently scored goals at the highest level year after year to warrant joining a top six club.

Toney is a much better target given his goal record, however, his drop off at the end of last season was something of a concern.
