Report: Tottenham’s transfer activity contributing to Everton manager’s frustrations

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti is growing frustrated with the club’s lack of summer transfer activity, according to the Daily Star.

The Italian was reported to have been keen to bring Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Merseyside only to lose out to Tottenham Hotspur.

The Daily Echo claimed last month that Hojbjerg had already visited Everton’s Finch Farm training ground and has agreed on personal terms with the Toffees after Southampton accepted a £25million offer.

The Dane had other plans however with The Sun claiming that the 25-year-old had already set his heart on a move to North London instead.

Ancelotti also looks set to miss out on another reported target with Lille central defender Gabriel Magalhaes said to be nearing a move to Arsenal.

Tottenham fans got their first view of Hojbjerg in action for the club on Saturday when he caught the eye in the 3-0 win against League One outfit Ipswich Town.

The midfielder showed a glimpse of what he can bring to the side when he intercepted a pass from the Ipswich keeper which led to Spurs doubling their lead through Heung-min Son.
