Report: Tottenham’s travel plans to Man City in jeopardy due to storm

The Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick has revealed that Tottenham’s travel plans to Manchester are under threat of being impacted by Storm Eunice.

Tottenham go into the match at the Etihad Stadium as massive underdogs on the back of two back-to-back home losses against Southampton and Wolves.

Antonio Conte will be hoping for a response from the side but he will know that another defeat on Saturday will seriously dent the club’s already slim hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.

In stark contrast, City come into the game full of confidence after demolishing Sporting Lisbon 5-0 on Tuesday in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie.

However, the home side’s preparation for their clash against Spurs has been impacted by Storm Eunice as the plane carrying the City squad home had to be redirected from Manchester to Liverpool due to winds of up to 40 knots (Daily Mail).

Kilpatrick has now revealed that Storm Eunice could also disrupt Tottenham’s plans of travelling to Manchester today.

Spurs Web Opinion

I initially saw this game as a free hit for Spurs but that is no longer the case after our defeats against Southampton and Wolves. I fear that a heavy defeat tomorrow could seriously dent the squad’s confidence and come as a major set back to Conte’s rebuilding project.
