Report: Tottenham’s Wanyama wants to watch this game before leaving the club

Tottenham Hotspur could be set to lose another central midfielder this summer after Mousa Dembele left for China back in January.

Victor Wanyama and Dembele forged a powerful partnership a few seasons ago, but it looks as if neither will be Spurs players come the end of the window.

The European transfer window is open until September 2, meaning that Wanyama still has over a week to secure his move away.

The Standard report that Tottenham have asked Club Brugge for £17m for the midfielder, while the Belgian outfit only want to pay £8m.

However, talks are still ongoing to find a solution and a final fee, but Wanyama may now be holding up the move himself.

The report states that the Kenyan wants to watch Brugge’s Champions League play-off second-leg tie before making the switch, in order to see if his new team will have CL football.

Club Brugge are currently 1-0 up against LASK Linz in the tie, with the second leg coming on Wednesday.
