Report: Transfer target said to be keen on Spurs move; £25m bid expected

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino recently suggested that the club needs to undergo a painful rebuild in the summer, and it now looks like that process is about to begin

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Spurs are closing in on a deal to sign Ryan Sessegnon, as Daniel Levy seeks to prove to Pochettino that he is ready to back him in the summer.

The report claims that Fulham want £40million for Sessegnon but Tottenham are prepared to just £25million considering that he is out of contract at the end of the next campaign. Further, it also suggests that Tottenham is the teenager’s preferred destination as he seeks to continue playing Premier League football following Fulham’s relegation to the Championship.

The 18-year-old was linked with a move to Spurs last summer as well but Fulham managed to hang on to their prized asset (Telegraph).

After a difficult start to life in the Premier League, the pacey left-footer’s performances have improved as the season has gone on. With a year of top flight football under his belt, the England U-21 international will be looking to kick on next season and live up to his potential with nobody better to help him fulfill it than the Spurs manager

We believe that this is one of those deals that makes sense for all three parties. Pochettino might be just the man to get Sessegnon to live up to his potential, and at the prices being touted, he will certainly be a valuable addition to the squad.

If there is any truth to this report, it is nice to see that Daniel Levy for once has decided to bring players in early rather than pushing things until late in the transfer window.
