Report: Transfer to Tottenham is the ‘most concrete’ option for 25-year-old

MilanNews.it have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are leading the race to snap up AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie when his contract runs out in the summer.

Spurs reportedly tried to sign Kessie during the January transfer window but the Ivory Coast international is thought to have turned them down, preferring to wait until the summer to leave Milan as a free agent (CalcioMeracto).

It was claimed a couple of weeks ago that Barcelona had reached a verbal agreement with the 25-year-old over a free transfer in the summer (Sportitalia TV journalist Gianluigi Longari).

However, this was subsequently denied by Fabrizio Romano, who claimed on Monday that the midfielder was yet to make a decision on his future.

If MilanNews.it’s latest update is to be believed, Spurs are currently the frontrunners to snap up Kessie in the summer.

The report states that the ‘most concrete hypotheses’ for the midfielder is that of a ‘future in the Premier League, in particular at Tottenham’.

It is explained that Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Newcastle United also remain interested in Kessie.

However, it revealed that the prospect of the former Atalanta man extending his contract at the San Siro is ‘least plausible, if not impossible’.

Spurs Web Opinion

One would expect Spurs to pull out all the stops to complete a deal for Kessie, given that we need a number eight and the Ivorian is set to be available for free. I see the Milan star as being a perfect fit for Conte’s set up and there is no doubt that he would instantly improve our starting eleven.
