Report: Traore not in favour of Spurs January transfer – Wants summer move to another club

Spanish publication Sport have revealed that rumoured Tottenham target Adama Traore would prefer to stay at Wolves until the end of the season and join Barcelona in the summer.

It was reported last week that Spurs were looking to snap up Traore on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy him in the summer.

Antonio Conte allegedly wanted to convert the winger into a right wing-back and the Wolves man was said to be in favour of a move to North London.

However, Sport now report that Barcelona have identified Traore as the man to replace Ousmane Dembele, who is expected to leave Camp Nou either this month or in the summer.

The report asserts that Traore personally visited Barcelona – the club where he came through the ranks – to give the green light for a move.

It is asserted that the Catalan giants see the operation as being ‘feasible’ and that the 25-year-old’s agent Jorge Mendes is working on a deal ahead of the summer.

Going by the difference in what Bruno Lage said about Traore last week compared to what he is saying now, something clearly seems to have changed with respect to the winger’s situation.

It seems like the 25-year-old’s proposed move to Spurs might well have fallen through, which is a huge shame if Antonio Conte really wanted him.
