Report: Troy Parrott receives injury blow before even making debut for Millwall

Troy Parrott missed Millwall’s season opener against Stoke City on Saturday due to a quad injury, according to a report by Football.London.

Some Spurs fans were extremely pleased to see Oliver Skipp put in a Man of the Match display in his competitive debut for Norwich City as the Canaries began their quest for promotion with a 1-0 win away at Huddersfield.

However, Tottenham fans were deprived of the chance to see Parrott in action, as the striker was unable to recover in time for the Lions’ season opener against Stoke after picking up an injury in a pre-season game.

The quad injury also saw the 18-year-old ruled out from Republic of Ireland’s Nations League games against Bulgaria and Finland, despite being named in Stephen Kenny’s squad.

Football.London reveal that the teenager will also miss Millwall’s Carabao Cup tie against Cheltenham Town on Tuesday but could recover in time for their league clash against Rotherham United next Saturday.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is not the start that Parrott would have hoped for as he would have wanted to hit the ground running. Looking at the kind of cagey encounter Millwall’s match against Stoke ended up being, perhaps a goalscorer like Parrott, who sniffs half-hances, could have got the home side all three points. Hopefully, we get to see the striker in action at Rotherham next week.
