Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel is believed to have told Harry Kane he can win the Champions League if he moves to the German club this summer.
Tottenham Hotspur face a difficult situation regarding Kane‘s future right now. With less than a year left on his contract, the 29-year-old is thought to prefer to depart the club this summer, and if that doesn’t happen, he could leave for nothing next year.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is trying desperately to persuade Kane to commit his future to the North London club.
Reports suggest the Lilywhites are prepared to offer Kane a huge new contract which would take his earnings to around £400,000 a week (Telegraph).
The England captain may well be tempted by the advances of Bayern Munich, who have already had two bids rejected for the Spurs star, and are expected to make a new offer in the coming weeks. The German outfit are hopeful a deal can be finalised by early August (Football Insider).
Thomas Tuchel promises Kane a major trophy
In the latest report on the situation courtesy of the Telegraph, it is claimed Spurs owner Joe Lewis has told Levy that Kane must be sold if he is unwilling to sign a new contract.
The report also suggests that Munich boss Thomas Tuchel has promised Kane something Spurs cannot offer, at least in the immediate future – the Champions League trophy.
Apparently, Kane is “desperate to win trophies” at this stage of his career, and Tuchel has told him that “together,” they can secure the Champions League for Bayern.
Spurs Web Opinion
There is no doubt that Harry Kane would significantly strengthen any team he played for, and Bayern would have a real shot at winning the Champions League if they acquire him this summer.
Winning a trophy like that is the least Kane deserves, and I imagine that prospect will bear heavy on his decision.
