Report: Two clubs make contact with on-loan Spurs man – Expected to leave N17

Two clubs from Serie A have engaged in talks with Tottenham loanee Pierluigi Gollini about a move this summer, with Torino a potential third team that could enter the conversation, according to Torino Granata.

Gollini joined Spurs on a season-loan from Atalanta but has been used in a backup role to Hugo Lloris, with his only appearances in goal coming in the cup competitions (Transfermarkt).

It has been reported that Spurs are not looking to sign the Italy international on a permanent deal and will allow him to head back to his parent club at the conclusion of his loan (Football Insider).

But Torino Granata note that Gollini is unlikely to return to Atalanta, which has opened the door to potential suitors from across the Italian top flight.

It is stated that two ‘medium-to-high’ clubs have an interest in acquiring the 27-year-old should he become available this summer.

While unnamed in the report, it is claimed they have both already communicated their intentions to sign Gollini, although there are no guarantees any agreements will be reached at present.

Meanwhile, a third team in Torino could accompany the interested parties, with the Granata expected to be in the market to address their goalkeeping concerns.

Current options Vanja Milinkovic-Savic and Etrit Berisha have failed to convince between the posts this season, which has led the club to pursue a fresh face this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham’s move for Gollini simply hasn’t worked out but the club won’t be too concerned considering they only brought him in on loan.

A return to Italy seems destined for him at this point which is probably for the best, but it will mean that Spurs need to look at acquiring another backup in his place.
