Report: Two European giants enter the race for 24-year-old Spurs target

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are now keeping an eye on RB Leipzig midfielder Dani Olmo, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar.

Olmo’s future at Leipzig is up in the air as he is about the enter the final year of his contract this June (Transfermarkt) and it has been reported by multiple sources (including Sky Germany) that the Bundesliga club have made one final contract offer to the attacking midfielder.

It has been explained that should the Spanish international turn down the latest offer, he would be put up for sale for a fee of around €30m (£26.6m).

Tottenham’s interest in Olmo first came to light around a month ago when SportBild (12/04/23 via Sport Witness) revealed that the North London club had enquired about the player’s availability ahead of the summer window.

Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that the race for the Leipzig star’s signature is heating up, with several big clubs said to be ‘well informed’ about the situation.

The journalist names Real Madrid and Bayern Munich as two of the clubs who are interested in Olmo’s services.

Spurs Web Opinion

It is not at all surprising to see Tottenham being linked with so many creative midfielders as that is a position that would be a priority for the club to address this summer, irrespective of who the next head coach is.

If we can convince Nagelsmann to come on board, that should help us in our pursuit of Olmo, given that the 24-year-old previously played under the German at the Red Bull Arena.
