Report: Two factors that could dictate Kane’s future amid Bayern interest

Sky Sports Germany have revealed that Harry Kane’s future will depend on how Tottenham get on this season, as well as Antonio Conte’s future.

The report explains that Bayern continue to work on a deal in the background to sign Kane next summer but the Bundesliga giants know that a transfer would be ‘very difficult’ to pull off.

It is revealed that the 29-year-old is fully concentrated on the World Cup at the moment and does not want to think about his future until the tournament concludes.

Sky state that Spurs ‘definitely’ want to extend the England captain’s current deal, which runs out in the summer of 2024 and that initial talks have taken place between the parties, although there have not been concrete negotiations yet.

It is said that Kane wants to see how well Tottenham do in the second part of the season and that the striker’s future may also be tied to Conte’s as he feels ‘comfortable’ under the Italian.

The report adds that the Spurs hierarchy are ‘confident’ that their talisman will put pen to paper on a contract extension. Bild also assert that even if Kane refuses to sign a new deal, a move to the Allianz Arena would still be ‘unlikely’ as the striker might prefer to remain in the Premier League.

The point about Kane’s future being tied to Conte’s is crucial. It is worth remembering that the striker has always been happy to stay at Spurs as long as the club is trying to compete with the best teams in the Premier League.

The only time he asked to leave was when we failed to finish in the top four for two consecutive seasons and looked a long way off from the likes of Liverpool and Man City. If Conte signs a new deal and is backed in January, I believe Kane will commit his future to the club.
