Report: Two more clubs join race for Tottenham’s Cameron Carter-Vickers

Southampton and Fulham have joined the race to sign Tottenham defender Cameron Carter-Vickers, according to 90min.

Carter-Vickers, currently spending the season on loan at Celtic, has produced a strong campaign in the Scottish Premiership.

The USA international has made 42 appearances for the Hoops (Transfermarkt) and emerged as a key player under Ange Postecoglou, while also helping the side claim the League Cup.

While Carter-Vickers is currently pencilled in to return to parent club Tottenham this summer, 90min report the club have no intentions to use him in their squad next season which has opened the door to two more interested parties.

It is stated that Southampton and newly-promoted Fulham have expressed an interest in signing the 24-year-old, who could be tempted by a return to the Premier League over a stay in Scotland.

Celtic, though, still have an option in Carter-Vickers’ contract to make the loan deal permanent for around £6 million with add-ons potentially taking the deal to double figures (Daily Record).

Spurs Web Opinion

It is inevitable that Carter-Vickers will leave Tottenham permanently this summer and it is the right move considering he won’t have much of a chance to break into the first team.

The fact there are plenty of interested parties is good news for Spurs as it gives them a really good chance of making sure they secure a sale.
