Report: Two new Spurs signings trained with teammates for first time today

The Evening Standard’s Dan Kilpatrick has revealed that Clement Lenglet and Djed Spence both trained with their new Tottenham teammates for the first time today.

Although reports had revealed as early last week (Fabrizio Romano) that Tottenham had reached a full agreement with Middlesbrough for Djed Spence, it was only today that the Lilywhites officially announced the right-back’s capture.

The 21-year-old becomes the club’s sixth signing of the summer transfer window, and he described the move as a ‘dream come true’ in his first interview with Spurs TV.

Spurs officially confirmed Lenglet’s arrival on a season-long loan deal from Barcelona a week and a half ago but the Frenchman’s signing was not completed in time for him to join the squad on their pre-season trip to South Korea.

The centre-back trained at Hotspur Way over the last week while the squad were being put their paces in Korea.

With the Tottenham squad now back in London, Kilpatrick revealed that both Lenglet and Spence trained with their new teammates at Hotspur Way today.

Although Antonio Conte might have preferred to have Spence and Lenglet in South Korea with the rest of the squad, the club have done well to get the signings completed in time for both players to have several weeks of pre-season training before the start of the new campaign.
