Report: Two PL clubs have submitted bids to sign Spurs-linked defender

Crystal Palace have submitted a bid of £6.8m to sign Ozan Kabak from Schalke 04 while Leicester City have also matched the offer (BILD).

TuttomercatoWEB have previously reported that the defender was a target for Tottenham’s new managing director of football Fabio Paratici.

Kabak has been heavily linked with a move away from Schalke due to the club’s financial situation after being relegated from the Bundesliga.

Bundesliga journalist Constantin Eckner suggested on the Blood Red podcast that Schalke need Kabak to leave because they simply can not afford to keep him anymore. The German side have even considered letting him leave as a free agent.

The defender went on out on loan to Liverpool for the second half of last season. He made 13 appearances in all competitions, four of them coming in the Champions League.

However, the defender’s loan move did not become permanent and now his future is unknown, although it appears Crystal Palace and Leicester are keen on the centre-back.

SpursWeb Opinion

Despite making the odd mistake in his limited minutes at Liverpool, the 21-year-old is still a talent worth pursuing. With Spurs looking to strengthen that position, it will interesting to see how the club react to the news that Palace and Leicester have submitted bids.
