Report: Two Premier League clubs end interest in striker linked with Spurs

Tottenham might have been handed a major boost in their chase for Queens Park Rangers star Eberechi Eze after Sheffield United and Crystal Palace both dropped out of the race to sign the attacker.

Eze is enjoying an impressive campaign at Loftus Road and Tottenham have been heavily linked with a move for him when the transfer market reopens in the summer (The Sun).

The attacker who has notched twelve goals and eight assists so far this season (transfermarkt) had also said to be attracting interest Premier League newcomers Sheffield United (The Sun).

Meanwhile, QPR director of football Les Ferdinand has admitted that Crystal Palace made an enquiry for the forward in January but did not follow up with an offer (Beautiful Game Podcast via The Standard).

However, The Sun report that both the Eagles and the Blades have decided not to push ahead with a move for Eze after QPR demanded £20 million for his signature.

The Lilywhites could now be left with a clear run for the England Under-21 international.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am extremely excited by the potential signing of Eze as I think he has the ability to develop into a real star with us. We’ve seen from our previous experiences with the likes of Jack Grealish and James Maddison that missing out on young talent from the Championship can be quite costly. I hope Levy has learned his lesson and pays up the £20 million to get the deal done early.
