Report: Two Premier League clubs enter race for Celtic player linked with Spurs

According to The Daily Record (as relayed by Football Scotland), Brighton and Crystal Palace have both entered the race to sign Celtic starlet Mitchel Frame, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar.

Frame has been in the Hoops’ academy since he was just eight and is regarded as one of the club’s top prospects, having impressed for the club’s youth sides as well as for Scotland’s Under-17s.

His displays have allegedly alerted clubs down South, including Spurs, with Football.Scotland reported back in January that the North London club were keen on snapping up the left-back.

The publication suggested that the Lilywhites were even ready to offer the 17-year-old a three-year professional contract.

However, if The Daily Record’s latest update is to be believed, Spurs could have competition to contend with from Brighton and Crystal Palace for Frame’s signature this summer.

The outlet states that both the Seagulls and the Eagles have scouted the young defender recently and were impressed by his displays.

Since Frame is in the first year of his Celtic professional contract, the Scottish club would be owed compensation for the player.

One of Scott Munn‘s main remits would likely have been to improve academy recruitment, which was an area that seemed to be neglected under Paratici.

So, we should not be surprised to see Spurs snapping up a number of young talents this summer and over the next few transfer windows.
