Report: Two Premier League giants interested in signing Spurs’ Harry Winks

Tottenham Hotspur have had a number of talented players come through their academy in recent years, but few midfielders have made it as far as Harry Winks.

Winks played his way straight from the youth ranks into the first team under Mauricio Pochettino and has since featured both for his country and in a Champions League Final.

Harry Winks featured heavily under Mauricio Pochettino this season, playing 90 minutes four times and featuring in 11 Premier League matches (TransferMarkt).

However, since Jose Mourinho has taken over, the midfielder has seen his game time slashed, partly through injury and partly through Mourinho’s faith in Eric Dier.

Winks played 90 minutes for the new head coach in his first match in charge, but has not done so since, and has only featured five other times in the league for Mourinho, with two of those being one-minute cameos (TransferMarkt).

It has now been reported by The Athletic that both Manchester United and Manchester City are keen on bringing Harry Winks in.
