Report: Two Premier League rivals enter race Tottenham-linked Franck Kessie

The Daily Mirror have claimed that Arsenal and Manchester United are set to enter the race for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham over recent weeks.

Kessie’s current deal runs out at the end of the season and the Rossoneri have so far been unable to convince the player to sign an extension.

It has been reported that the Milan star is one of the players that Antonio Conte has urged Tottenham to bring in when the transfer window opens in January.

According to sources in France, Paris Saint-Germain are currently leading the race for Kessie, with Mauricio Pochettino’s men thought to have met with the midfielder’s entourage on several occasions to inquire about ‘his sporting and financial demands’.

If the Mirror’s latest report is to be believed, Spurs may not just have to contend with competition from PSG for the Milan star but also from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Man Utd.

The Red Devils are alleged to be keen on strengthening their midfield ranks in January and it is explained that they might find the prospect of completing a cut-price deal for Kessie to be too good to turn down.

Mikel Arteta’s men are also said to have set their sights on the Ivory Coast international ahead of January.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Kessie does become available in January, I think the Conte and Paratici factors might give Spurs an advantage over both United and Arsenal in the race for the 24-year-old.

It is PSG that I am more worried about, particularly with multiple reports claiming that the Ligue 1 club have had negotiations over a contract with the midfielder’s representatives.
