Report: Two senior Spurs players score in behind-closed-doors friendly

The Evening Standard have revealed that Lucas Moura and Japhet Tanganga got on the scoresheet for Tottenham in their behind-closed-doors friendly against Ipswich Town on Thursday.

The vast majority of Tottenham’s first-team squad are away on international duty, with just four members of the senior squad remaining at Hotspur Way – Moura, Tanganga, Clement Lenglet and Arnaut Danjuma.

They were also joined by Hugo Lloris, who recovered from his knee ligament injury to start in the friendly against the Tractor Boys, with the majority of the Spurs side being packed with Under-21 players.

The Evening Standard revealed that it was a 70-minute game at Hotspur Way, with the League One side emerging 3-2 winners, with Moura and Tanganga being the two goalscorers for the Lilywhites.

The publication also explained that assistant manager Cristian Stellini and first-team coach Ryan Mason took charge of the match as planned since Antonio Conte is still in Italy.

The friendly would have been good for the likes of Moura, Danjuma and Tanganga, who have not had too many competitive minutes recently. However, the biggest positive is the fact that Lloris came through the game unscathed, with the Frenchman now looking likely to start against Everton.
