Report: Two Serie A clubs eyeing summer move for Tottenham’s Ndombele

According to Italian radio station Radio Radio (08/06/22 – as relayed by InsideFutbol), Lazio and AS Roma are both eyeing summer moves for Tanguy Ndombele.

Ndombele blew hot and cold during his loan spell at Lyon in the second half of the 2021/22 campaign and it did not come as a surprise when the Ligue 1 club chose against taking up the £54m option to buy the midfielder permanently (The Evening Standard).

The 25-year-old is one of the players that Spurs are reportedly keen on offloading this summer ahead of Antonio Conte’s first full season in charge (The Times).

According to Radio Radio’s latest update, Ndombele is on the radars of Serie A giants Lazio and Roma this summer.

However, the report explains that Spurs want a fee in the region of €30m (£25.6m) for the Frenchman, which could be a problem for both the cross-city rivals.

In addition, it is explained that Lazio are unlikely to be in a position to meet Ndombele’s wage demands.

However, both the Serie A clubs are allegedly continuing to keep tabs on the Tottenham star’s situation this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

Although Mourinho and Ndombele seemed to put their problems behind them during the Portuguese coach’s final season at Spurs, I still find it hard to believe that Jose would want a reunion with the French midfielder.

I do not think Spurs will have much choice but to loan Ndombele out this summer unless the 25-year-old agrees to take a substantial wage cut in order to seal a move away from North London.
