Report: Two Spurs stars caught speeding near Hotspur Way – One banned for six months

The Evening Standard have reported that both Erik Lamela and Eric Dier have been caught speeding by cameras near Hotspur Way.

The new speeding cameras are also said to have pictured Jan Vertonghen and Jermain Defoe driving over the limit.

The series of court hearings were held in December 2020 and dealt with the infringements made by all four Tottenham-linked footballers.

It is reported that Lamela, Vertonghen and Defoe were all fined and handed penalty points on their respective driver’s licences.

However, Eric Dier was handed a six-month driving ban starting on December 8. This came after the Spurs and England central defender admitted to a speeding offence.

The cameras were apparently set up last April on the A10 between Bullsmoor Lane and Southbury Road, with the limit being 40 miles per hour. In the first months of the cameras being there, 14,774 fixed penalty notices were issued.

Lamela was caught speeding at 52 mph and 48 mph on two separate occasions, while Dier was clocked at 49 mph.
