According to a new report on the comings and goings at Tottenham Hotspur this month, youngsters Alfie Dorrington and Jamie Donley are thought to be staying at the club rather than heading out on loan.
It has been an eventful and rather productive January transfer window for Spurs so far. Not only have two new faces arrived through the door, with Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin providing much-needed squad depth in key areas, but fringe players have moved on, too.
Meanwhile, the younger Spurs stars are securing loan moves that should benefit their career long-term. Ashley Phillips has joined Plymouth Argyle until the end of the season, and Alfie Devine was recalled from Port Vale to join Phillips at Argyle, too, making the step up to the Championship.

Dorrington and Donley are going nowhere
Naturally, Tottenham youth players are coveted by lower league clubs, and with a little under two weeks until the transfer window closes, we could see more departures. However, two players set to stay in North London and remain part of Ange Postecoglou‘s first team squad, are Alfie Dorrington and Jamie Donley.
That’s according to a report from The Independent, where it is claimed the two teenagers have been attracting “numerous loan interest” this month already. But, the pair are now set to stay with Spurs and continue their development with the senior team.
Both players have been on the bench multiple times this season. Donley made his first team debut against Manchester City in December and has since played as a substitute on two further occasions (Transfermarkt), while Dorrington has yet to feature.

I have to say I’m really happy about this news. While both players could feasibly head out on loan and get a lot of experience, they are now so close to getting game time at Spurs and it’s likely they will be needed throughout the second half of the season.
