Alderweireld has two years left on his contract with Spurs and the Belgian has been linked with a return to the Eredivisie this summer.
Previous reports from Holland indicated that PSV Eindhoven and Ajax are both eyeing a move for the centre-back.
Voetbal 24 now report that it is not just Alderweireld on Ajax’s radar but also Sanchez, who has not exactly had a campaign to remember so far.
The Colombian excelled in the one season he spent in Amsterdam before Spurs snapped him up for a then club-record £42m fee in the summer of 2017.
The report explains that Ajax believe that they have a much better chance of signing Alderweireld than Sanchez, with the 32-year-old said to be fond of the club at which he came through the youth ranks.
However, it is asserted that Alderweireld has not made up his mind about his future and remains hopeful of forcing his way back into regular contention after Mourinho’s departure.
Spurs Web Opinion
Our summer plans are likely to change after Mourinho’s sacking but one would presume that the club would still be looking to bolster their options at centre-back.
Out of the four central defenders at the club (excluding Japhet Tanganga), I believe that Sanchez is the most likely to leave as he could fetch a decent amount in the transfer market.
However, Alderweireld’s value is also likely to fall considerably in a years’ time and so I would not be surprised if the club decided to also cash in on the Belgian.
