Report: Two US-based investors are in talks with Daniel Levy about Spurs stake

The Daily Mail have said that two US-based investment groups are currently in talks with Tottenham Hotspur over buying a minority stake in the club.

Tottenham released their financial results for the 2022/23 year earlier this month and as part of the announcement, Daniel Levy admitted that the club had spoken to potential investors.

The Spurs chairman revealed that they are seeking investment as the club requires ‘a significant increase in its equity base’ in order to invest in the team and undertake future capital projects.

In fact, a couple of weeks ago, former Everton and Aston Villa CEO Keith Wyness even told Football Insider that he had talked to several groups who have shown an interest in buying Spurs.

Two consortiums in talks with Tottenham Hotspur

The Mail have now said that Levy is continuing to search for new investors, with some consortiums across the Atlantic allegedly showing ‘genuine interest’.

In fact, it is asserted that at least two US-based groups are in talks with Tottenham and have been made aware of the numbers in question.

However, the publication does not reveal how much stake those consortiums are interested in buying or the price they have been quoted.

Spurs Web Opinion

Given that a lot of big clubs across the Premier League are not in a position to spend big this summer due to their PSR situation, the upcoming window represents a big opportunity for Tottenham to take a gamble and go big.

If the club manage to bring in significant investment, that would certainly set them up to be one of the biggest spenders across Europe this summer.
