Report: Underdog club planning big offer for Eriksen despite knowing it may be an ‘impossible task’

Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen is well into the final year on his North London contract, with no new deal in sight for the Great Dane.

Despite being an integral part of Pochettino’s senior team over the past five years, Eriksen revealed a desire to move onto pastures new in the summer, revealing he desires a step up (Ekstra Bladet).

CalcioMercato revealed last week that Eriksen has emerged as a top target for Real Madrid in January. However, they are not the only club looking at Spurs’ playmaker.

While it has already been documented that Inter Milan are interested in Eriksen, Corriere dello Sport have now revealed what the Italian club are set to offer him.

Many would argue that Inter is nowhere near a step up from Spurs, last year’s Champions League finalists, and even Milan themselves are said to realise it may be an ‘impossible task’. However, the report says that Inter believe it would be wrong not to at least try.

They are reportedly set to offer Eriksen a five-year contract with €9m a year including bonuses. Would this be enough to tempt the Great Dane?
