An unnamed international player is ready to join Tottenham Hotspur this summer, according to The Athletic.
The report claims that talks have taken place between the player, his agent and the club with the transfer suiting all parties, however, a deal is being held up by the fact that the North Londoners do not currently have a head coach in place.
Tottenham are said to be the player’s first choice, yet there is substantial interest in his services from other Premier League clubs.
Daniel Levy made the decision to sack Jose Mourinho ten weeks ago and is still yet to confirm who will be replacing him, having been previously linked with a whole host of candidates including Erik ten Hag, Graham Potter, Roberto Martinez, Mauricio Pochettino, Antonio Conte, Paulo Fonseca and Gennaro Gattuso.
All transfers are said to be on hold at Tottenham until the new head coach arrives, which causes a significant delay and it remains to be seen how long this mysterious player is prepared to wait.
