Report: Unnamed London club have made offer for Leicester star

Arsenal have been joined by another London club in their pursuit of Leicester City midfielder James Maddison, Football.London have revealed.

Maddison took the Premier League by storm after moving to Leicester from Norwich City in 2018. In fact, the midfielder was rumoured to be on the radars of several big clubs, including Spurs, after his first season at the King Power.

However, the midfielder’s form levelled off a bit last season (even though he found the back of the net 11 times) and he found himself missing out on the England squad for the European Championships.

Football.London have now revealed that Arsenal hold a serious interest in signing Maddison this summer, with the 24-year-old also keen on a move to the Emirates.

However, the report adds that the Gunners are not the only club to show interest in the Foxes star, with another London club also alleged to have proposed a player plus cash deal.

The report goes on to add that Arsenal’s negotiations for Maddison are ‘very slow’ and ‘like a game of chess’.

Leicester are said to be demanding over £60m for the midfielder and the price is alleged to be a sticking point for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Spurs Web Opinion

I suspect that the other London club is more likely to be West Ham than Spurs. I cannot see us signing a number ten this summer unless we cash in on Dele Alli, the prospect of which looks bleak with not long left in the transfer window. However, I am a fan of Maddison and I would hate to see him going to Arsenal.
