Report: Upcoming opponents could have new manager in place ahead of Spurs clash

According to The Daily Mail, Crystal Palace could potentially have a new manager in charge by the time they take on Tottenham Hotspur at the beginning of March.

Tottenham will host Wolves in the Premier League on Saturday and will look to carry on the momentum after their dramatic late win against Brighton.  Ange Postecoglou‘s men will then have a two-week break before the Eagles make the trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on March 2.

If The Mail’s recent update is to be believed, the Lilywhites could be dealing with a different Palace side by then as the club have made the decision to replace Roy Hodgson.

It is explained that the South London side were initially expected to stick with Hodgson until the summer but have now changed their mind after their poor run over the last couple of months.

Oliver Glasner was linked with Tottenham job

The outlet does not give clarity on when Palace are expected to make the change but it suggests that it is a near certainty.

Interestingly, the publication names former Eintracht Frankfurt head coach Olivier Glasner as one of the main contenders to replace the 76-year-old at Selhurst Park.

The Austrian was mooted as a target for Spurs last summer before the North London side appointed Postecoglou (Football Transfers).

Spurs Web Opinion

I am sure Postecoglou would much prefer to face the current version of Palace, who look a shambles under Hodgson.

The Eagles could get a new manager bounce if they make a chance within the next couple of weeks, which would not be ideal for Tottenham given the tight race for a Champions League spot.
