Football Insider have now reported that former Tottenham youngster, Marcus Edwards has agreed personal terms with Sporting Lisbon ahead of a possible transfer.
Sporting Lisbon had a £10.3 million bid accepted by Vitoria earlier this month, which will have excited Tottenham as they have a sell-on clause in Edwards’ contract.
When Edwards joined Vitoria from Spurs two years ago, Daniel Levy and co managed to add a 50% future sell-on clause into the deal.
This means that the North London club could pocket around £5m if the transfer to Sporting Lisbon goes through, all without losing any of their current players.
Football Insider claim that a recruitment source has informed them that Edwards has now agreed on personal terms with Lisbon and all involved and confident that a deal will be finalised.
Spurs Web Opinion:
A little five million pound bonus is very welcome at the moment. I just hope that Spurs do not come to regret selling Edwards in a few years. However, for now, it was a great bit of transfer business from the North London club.
